I just hosted the Made For More Event and I wanted to share with you EXACTLY what happened, why it was SO SPECIAL and how we broke the internet! Honestly, I have never seen ANYTHING like it, I literally couldn’t keep up with my phone.
The industry and what people need is massively changing. The old school style of being chained to your laptop, not meeting people in person and squirrelling away alone – yes it still works to a certain extent but if you really want to create waves in your industry, be known as a leader and create huge momentum in your business you NEED to start thinking about doing things DIFFERENTLY.
Made For More is a strategy and networking event, which I’ve now turned into a membership. This idea was coined from a conversation I had with my biz besties. The 3 of us went to Devon on a retreat and we were chatting about how challenging it can be starting a business and how grateful we are for our friendship because before we met we were lonely, chained to our laptops and not having a lot of fun.
I said I wanted to start doing things DIFFERENTLY. I knew I had a gift of bringing incredible people together. I thought everyone could do this but as I started to attend more and more events, I realised that wasn’t the case. A lot of events I went to felt stuffy, judgy, pitchy.
The women I bring together are successful, powerful, kind and compassionate, inspiring, empowering. They weren’t there to pitch or to sell. They were there to enjoy an experience, connect and collaborate with others. When you have a room FULL of women who want to do this, it becomes a really beautiful space. The women that I bring together GIVE more than they TAKE. This means as a community, we’re there for each other.
So, that’s where this idea for Made For More stemmed from. I thought, how fucking cool would it be to have an event where we strategise our business and we bring like-minded women together so they can connect, feel seen and make genuine friendships with people that get it and support them.
Honestly, I have been to so many events in the last 3 years – I would say 90% of them have been boring, overpriced, one big unsolicited sales pitch and/or falsely advertised.
I wanted to create an event that was DIFFERENT. I wanted people to leave saying this was the best fucking day of my entire business – and that’s a bold statement! But I have to say, we pulled it off. Yes, it was well planned, well executed, with lots of surprises, but it was really a result of the people that attended. I think when you’re authentic, the right people are attracted to you, and this definitely happened on Friday.
The reason why I called it Made For More is because I wanted to give these women permission to claim MORE, create MORE, charge MORE, ask for MORE. It’s all about MORE. We’re so polite and modest… we don’t want to be too bold because it’s rude or too ambitious because it’s selfish. NO! I wanted to throw this out the window and celebrate the fact that we want MORE and we’re going to create MORE together. By setting this framework, it really pumped everyone up.
In terms of the schedule, I ran two short, fire, 30 minute workshops during the day. The first workshop was about THINKING BIG and the second workshop was on HOW TO BECOME BOLDY AUDACIOUS ONLINE.
There’s so much power in connecting. For a whole afternoon we sacked off the Instagram algorithm and made REAL CONNECTIONS in the room. And want to know what happened as a result? We broke the internet. The amount of comments, stories, posts, shares, pure engagement, new followers was INSANE.
It’s impossible to put into words the energy and the magic of the day. So instead I’ll leave you today with some of my biggest takeaways from the event:
