Consider this a mini strategy meeting. I share the failures and f**k ups I’ve made in the last 6 months of my business. I think it’s so important see the full picture, the magic and the fuck-ups because it’s not always rainbows and unicorns, successful launches and big numbers. It’s really interesting to hear the mistakes other people have made so you can think about the things you can implement in your business to ensure these things don’t happen to you.
1 🚀 STRATEGY
Having no strategy was my BIGGEST mistake. It’s not enough to just say ‘this is the programme’ and ‘this is the price’. This is NOT a strategy. If you’re relying on this, it’s shaky and it’s not built on evidence. You’re opening yourself up to HUGE risk. You can’t base a 6 figure launch on your intuition, your business NEEDS strategy if you want to make serious money. Yes, there is place for intuition and innovation but it needs to be held within strategic framing.
2 🚀 MARKET RESEARCH
Don’t launch a brand new product without doing any market research. I can’t stress to you enough how important it is to do market research! In order to make your product crystal clear to your audience you have to use the language your audience is using. So, test your messaging! In order for your client to buy your product, they need to know it solves a problem for them.
3 🚀 GETTING CRYSTAL CLEAR
Is your offer vague? Are you being clear about the problems you can solve for your client? Think about your client – how would your client articulate their own problem, and how would they want to solve their problem? They’re not the expert, but you have to get into their shoes to pick a format or create an experience that feels attractive to THEM.
4 🚀 BE INTENTIONAL
Timing is everything. Be clever about WHEN you choose to launch whilst thinking about YOUR ideal client. For example, my ideal client tends to feel super motivated in January. So why did I try to launch a product targeting people who are struggling in January? It makes zero sense.
5 🚀 DON’T BE PRESUMPTUOUS
Don’t presume low ticket will be easy to sell. This is one of my BIGGEST learnings. It doesn’t matter whether your product is £2… if your product isn’t attractive or crystal clear to your client, and if your product isn’t solving your clients problem… they’re not going to buy it, REGARDLESS of how cheap it is.
These 5 mistakes cost me £15,000.
So what did I do?
I didn’t take it personally.
I learnt from these mistakes.
I dived straight into market research.
I started refining my audience.
I got crystal clear on my ideal client.
I created a no-brainer offer for them.
I nailed my launch strategy.
