IDGAF Energy & How To Stop Giving A Shit What People Think Of You

Today we’re talking about my favourite topic: IDGAF energy. Off the back of this, I hope you feel fired up and ready to move into your IDGAF era to experience freedom in its fullest form.

What does IDGAF stand for? 

I DON’T GIVE A FUCK.

I spent so many years giving all of my fucks to people who I don’t even know now. I would burn myself to the ground for people who’s names I can barely remember now. This was when I was working in the corporate world, working hard to  be noticed, recognised and talked about positivity. I spent ALL my time giving a fuck about everyone else, and not myself.

IDGAF energy is not about being lazy and not giving a fuck.

It’s about not giving a fuck about what anyone else is doing or what anyone else thinks.

It’s about knowing you’re the expert and moving the needle forward in your business because YOU are important to YOU.

It’s about not looking sideways in business

It’s about no longer bending your boundaries for people who don’t respect you or your time.

It’s about showing up authentically as YOU and not giving a fuck if people don’t like who that is.

It’s about not giving a fuck if someone thinks you’re not smart enough, skinny enough, etc.

IDGAF energy is about cutting the noise and all the shit, and coming back to what’s truly important to YOU.

What does it look like to not have IDGAF energy?

🙅🏼‍♀️ You people please

🙅🏼‍♀️ You water yourself down 

🙅🏼‍♀️ You don’t take up space 

🙅🏼‍♀️ You don’t express yourself 

🙅🏼‍♀️ You put everyone else first 

🙅🏼‍♀️ You can’t say no

🙅🏼‍♀️ You shrink yourself down

🙅🏼‍♀️ You don’t want to come across as arrogant 

🙅🏼‍♀️ You’re struggling with imposter syndrome

🙅🏼‍♀️ You’re not going all in on visibility 

🙅🏼‍♀️ You’re holding yourself back 

🙅🏼‍♀️ You’re always looking for the ‘right’ thing to say

🙅🏼‍♀️ You’re too in your head

🙅🏼‍♀️ You struggle making decisions

🙅🏼‍♀️ You’re creating content from the ego

ALL of these things are going to hinder your success. 

How to get IDGAF energy:

Good girl and IDGAF energy don’t co-exist. It’s one or the other… so CHOOSE.

IDGAF energy feels like freedom. 

Remember, IDGAF energy is different and unique to everyone. It’s about being authentic and clear on who YOU are and confident about showing up as that. 

Choose how you’re spending your best years? Is it good girl or IDGAF?

If you want to be courageous and start to embrace who you are at your core, it’s important to find out the root of what’s kept you stuck in good girl energy all these years. Think of it as a Jenga block, made up of your limiting beliefs. What’s at the top of your block? Follow it down until you reach your one core limiting belief (e.g. “I don’t belong here” or “I’m not good enough”. Then, once you identify this and remove it, watch as your entire Jenga block falls down.
