I thought I’d share with you a mini sales training. This is for you if selling, talking about yourself and/ or having a discovery call gives you the ICK. If you think your sales strategy is good – read on, as I’m sharing a few extra pointers on how to sell with confidence, ease and magnetism.
First, it’s important to understand how you feel about selling, what you believe to be true about selling and get to the crux of the narrative you have around selling. This is going to help you identify your blocks and discover why people aren’t converting.
💣 Truth: If you don’t enjoy selling, or if you’re not very good at it, your business is never going to be successful. You could have the best product in the world, but if you can’t sell with confidence, you’re never going to reach success.
Why selling feels icky:
Selling feels icky if you are selling a product that people aren’t interested in, to people that don’t want it. In this situation, you’ll find a ‘push’ dynamic where people don’t feel comfortable. It’s SO IMPORTANT to make sure that you’re speaking to the right audience – an audience that are interested in solving a problem that they have. And then it’s about creating a product that you are so excited about.
Once you’ve nailed this part, selling starts to feel easy.
How to make selling feel easy:
Good selling doesn’t feel like selling. It feels like a conversation and natural.
The best way to do this is to make people aware of your offers before you even “sell” to them. In order to make your sales strategy easy, you need to be regularly talking about your offers daily. This way, you’re warming up your audience so that by the time you have a discovery call or join a free masterclass, they’ve already checked out your sales pages, your podcast and your content. Here, you’ll find yourself in a strong position where they’re already interested in what you have to say and your product.
I call this approach the “range rover approach” (listen to episode 61 of my podcast for a breakdown of this analogy).
The magnetic sales strategy that you are looking for is NOT:
🚫 Sending 100x DM’s
🚫 Objection handling
🚫 Taking payments over the phone
🚫 Creating unsolicited pitches
A magnetic sales strategy IS:
✅ Creating a product that is so incredible and that you are so excited about that it sells itself
✅ Creating the confidence in yourself to present yourself regularly and celebrate your offers daily
✅ Lead with value
What’s the main difference between magnetic sales and icky sales?
🚫 Selling your offer isn’t about getting someone to say yes.
✅ Your job is to EMPOWER that person to make the right decision for them. Sometimes, it’s not in your favour at that time, but trust that the right people will come back around.
