How I’d Coach You To Stop People Pleasing

We are conditioned to be people pleasers.

From an evolution perspective, this makes total sense. By playing it safe and making ourselves more likeable it means we’re not going to get rejected, left out in the cold or suffer.

Innately, we’re pack creatures – we want to fit in.

If deep down you know you’re people pleasing whether that’s with your family, friends, in your business or at work, it has HUGE consequences, not only on the now, but long term.

In business, people tend to: 

Take on too much 

Find it hard to say no

Struggle to put their prices up

Feel huge resistance on sharing their voice

If we look at this from a symptoms perspective, you might find yourself experiencing burnout and exhaustion from your people pleasing tendencies.

If we dig deeper, it’s because you’re struggling to say the magic word – NO!

You’re saying yes to everybody else but yourself.

If you constantly say yes to everybody else but not yourself, that is a problem. WHY? Because internally you’re telling yourself that you’re not worthy.

What memories come up for you?

What patterns of safety behaviour do you have?

Thinking about your fears, how can you start de armouring these and make them less scary?

How do you want to feel?
